THE TREND IS DEAD
The most brutal and abrasive, and powerful record imo. The remasters are done real well and they do sound cleaner. and the early mixes/instrumentals are awesome, especially floods. The live versions of suicide note pt2 and sandblasted skin are absolute brutal. Nothing but the one and only The Great Southern Trendkill. This album is real special to me in its own meaning. Worth every penny.
Great album but
This review is broken into 2 parts, first is for the people who don't have this album at all. It's a 5 star album, just like everything Pantera did in the 90's and is definitely worth owning. If you already have the original version though it's a different story....
The remaster wasn't really necessary, the original's sound quality is just fine. This does sound better slightly better IMO but I don't feel the need to re-buy it for the remaster. The extra material isn't really essential either, it's a nice bonus but again it doesn't motivate me to re-buy this album to get it. Luckily none of the bonus stuff is album only so I would recommend at least checking out the samples to see if you want any of the extras and stick with the original version if you already have it.
If only things would have worked out differently, I would love to have seen what could have been from Pantera.... RIP Dime
Killer stuff as expected...dime-bag, where art ya???
This sounds way worse than the original.
Love The Album
This is my favorite Pantera album, but this remastered version is in no way better. It seems to have too much treble and too much lows when the toms are hit. If for some reason you don't have this album yet, go with the original version. You'll thank me later.
This record doesn't get the hype that the first three do, but for me it's a toss up between Trendkill and Vulgar for the top spot.
Excellent riffs, aggression, lyrics that make you think. But also a variety of sounds and textures.
Straight speed and power in places. Groove and swing in others. Somber, introspectiveness in some. It really has a little bit of all of their songwriting strengths.
The ending of floods early mix is just too beautiful R.I.P dimebag
Best Metal Band of all Time!
By Brandon ferris
Pantera is the best of the best. Dimebag is my favorite guitarist ever. R.I.P Dime, if there was any justice in this world you would still be here shredding, showing all others why Pantera has no equals. Amazing album, as they all are..
The most underrated Pantera record for reasons unknown to me. This record is; and always has been brutal and awesome! CFH killing the trends!
BEST PANTERA ALBUM EVER!
BUY IT, YOU'LL HAVE MADE THE RIGHT DESCION
